As a Site Reliability Engineer, you play a key role in the planning, implementation, migration and operation of our critical DNS, DHCP, NTP and IP management services, working closely with system administrators and network engineers. Tasks Work in our team to design, develop and operate high-availability services on Linux, ensuring seamless integration with our operational requirements and product requirements. Take responsibility for the entire stack, from hardware to application and drive forward the continuous improvement and development. Join our open source projects like DIM (github.com/ionos-cloud/dim) and monzero (github.com/ionos-cloud/monzero) and help shape the future of our infrastructure. You participate in the call for the DNS squad to ensure the smooth operation of our complex infrastructure. Qualifications A completed study of computer science or comparable training with strong interest in infrastructure topics and good network skills. More than 5 years of practical experience in managing complex, distributed services under Linux. Multiannual experience in the system-oriented development of highly available software artifacts using programming or script languages such as Go, Python, Bash and Java. Practical experience with the operation of DNS, NTP (ntpd, chrony, Meinberg), DHCP, and IP management. Confidence with Puppet or other configuration management systems and experience with Observability Stacks. Passion for open source, especially Linux, and excellent communication skills in English (German is a plus). Our tools and methods: We use dollt as our configuration management system, but we are open to candidates with experience in other systems such as Ansible, CFEngine or Salt. We believe that you can only get better if you measure, so we work with Observability Stacks (e.g. collectd/telegraf, metrictank, influx, Grafana) to monitor and improve our services.
