Heat and energy are our contribution to the quality of life – every day new. As BEW Berliner Energie und Wärme GmbH we supply the capital with electricity and heat in a climate-friendly manner. Our district heating network is the largest Western Europe with a length of more than 2,000 kilometres. We supply about one third of the Berlin households with heat. With the know-how of our 2,200 employees, we cover the entire value chain of district heating – from production to grid operation and expansion to distribution. At high pressure, we work at the coal exit until 2030 and at climate-neutral production from 2040. In this way, we support the Land of Berlin significantly when reaching its climate targets. On the way to this we want to realize a higher proportion of renewable energies and waste heat. To do this, we need to redesign many of our sites and facilities. For the BEW Berliner Energie und Wärme GmbH we are looking for you at the next possible time as head: in the field of technical planning and service at the Berlin site in an indefinite position. You guide the “Technical Planning and Service” division, which is located in the technical department of BEW and reports directly to the technical manager. In the department's management team, you work together with the management companies on the sustainable optimization of operations and maintenance, and on the other hand with the management projects actively in implementing the transformation. The core tasks of your area include the development of the maintenance strategy, budget priority for all planned measures and the planning of revision measures. In addition, you are responsible for providing comprehensive services such as process management, controlling or audit planning and control and technical monitoring. You are assigned the three divisions Plant Strategy & Planning, Central Technology (including storage and workshops) as well as technical monitoring. In addition, quality management is integrated as a staff member in your area. The respective executives are controlled by you at the top level. As Head of Technical Planning and Service, you represent the superordinate and central technical functions in the relevant BEW project bodies. You play not only a key role in the sustainable development of the BEW, but also actively advance our transformation. Your tasks You develop the maintenance strategy for the various plants and systems. You plan and optimise the revision measures and standstills taking into account the operations and take over the project and program management. You are taxing budget priority for planned measures. You are responsible for providing comprehensive services from central technology (e.g. workshops or storage) and for the technical monitoring of all relevant plants and processes. You are responsible for the production data management and the further development of plant and production systems, including with the addition of digital technologies. You ensure the continuous optimization and quality of the technical services. You run a professional team and actively participate as a permanent member of the steering committees and project bodies in the new building business. You also work with relevant external stakeholders and politics.

You have a completed university degree (Master/Uni Diploma) as an engineer or economic engineer, ideally with a background in power plant technology, process engineering, energy and environmental technology or electrical engineering and at least 10 years of professional experience in the field of project, asset or plant management, preferably in the heat sector (e.g. district heating, heating power plants or similar technologies). You have a strong technical understanding. You bring at least 5 years of leadership experience in a leading role, ideally in the leadership of interdisciplinary, large teams. You have a strong expertise in budget planning and cost control, especially in terms of financial management of systems and processes. You have experience in dealing with legal regulations as part of compliance and audit audits. You are able to analyze complex data based on sound strategic decisions. You are characterized by excellent interpersonal skills and you stand for respectful handling, for promoting your team's own responsibility and development. You have a very good network within the energy industry and recognize current developments at an early stage. You have knowledge of German and very good English in word and writing.
