German as a foreign language for beginners (A1–A2)

This beginners course is aimed at people without or with only very small knowledge of German who want to learn the German language systematically from scratch. The aim of the course is to provide participants with a secure linguistic basis for everyday situations such as shopping, public administration, medical visits or simple discussions in the professional environment.

Through numerous dialogues, role-playing and exercises, active language use is promoted from the outset.
At the end of the course, participants reach a language level that allows them to communicate easily and independently in everyday life.

Syllabus sections
| 1. | Basics of German language |
In this module, participants get to know the basic building blocks of the German language. These include the German alphabet, the correct pronunciation, sound combinations and concrete rules. In addition, numbers, welcome forms and basic courtesy expressions are introduced. The aim is to reduce inhibitions in speaking and to develop a first voice feeling. | |
| 2. | Everyday communication |
This module focuses on oral communication in everyday life. The participants practice typical conversation situations such as presenting their own person, simple questions and answers as well as dialogues when shopping or in the restaurant. The vocabulary is specifically expanded to express basic needs linguistically. Practical exercises and role-playing are the focus. | |
| 3. | Basics of grammar |
Here, the most important grammatical foundations are provided, which are necessary for simple and correct sentences. The participants learn the use of personal pronouns, articles and the formation of sentences in the present. The German sentence structure and simple questions are also discussed. The grammar is always explained and applied using practical examples. | |
| 4. | Reading, writing and hearing |
The recipe and productive language skills are trained in this module. The participants read short, simple texts and learn to understand their content. At the same time, they practice writing simple sentences and short texts. Hearing exercises with daily dialogues help to improve the listening understanding and get to know different speech speeds. | |
| 5. | Everyday orientation in Germany |
This module provides linguistic and cultural foundations for life in Germany. The participants learn important terms and phrases for authorities, medical visits and public transport. In addition, basic cultural features and social rules are addressed. The goal is to gain more security in daily life. |
