Research Assistant Modelling of Wind Farm Logistics

You strengthen the group »Offshore Betriebs & Logistik« at Bremerhaven, Bremen or Hamburg. We are engaged in the development of innovative methods for optimizing installation, operating and rebuilding concepts for offshore wind farms. The focus of the activities is the development of software tools that can map and analyze the entire life of an offshore wind farm in detailed time series simulations. Currently our team consists of five employees and several students. Regardless of projects and backgrounds, we support each other. The open exchange and cooperation, also beyond team boundaries and locations, are particularly important to us. You develop different models and methods. In doing so, you analyze and optimize installation, operating and rebuilding concepts of offshore wind farms. You will find approaches to reducing risks and costs over the entire service life of the wind farms. For the development of the methods and the further development of an in-house software you use Python. You support the team in the acquisition of industrial projects in which your developed methods and models are used, and you will be involved in research projects, for example through development of ideas, application and reporting. In addition, you'll be practising cooperation and interfaces with other groups at the institute.

You have completed your Diploma / Master in Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Economic Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, with one of the above mentioned priorities. In addition, you bring programming knowledge to Python and may already have knowledge in offshore processes or offshore logistics in wind farm operation. If you also have experience in project work and/or wind energy in general as well as experience in modeling work processes, you are right with us! Don't worry if you don't have all the knowledge yet: with us you can also make your professional entry! We act on the IWES at an international level, which is why, besides German and English, you can make everyday work easier.
