Project Staff Sustainability Management (m/f/d)

The Technical University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt (THWS) is one of the largest practice-oriented universities in Bavaria and covers a wide range of subjects with the fields of technology, social and economic sciences, design and languages. We accompany around 9,300 students in more than 65 courses on their educational path. Since 2022, THWS has been certified by the audit family-friendly university in order to meet the diversity of life plans and family forms and to actively promote the reconciliation of the profession and family of their employees. The Institute for Applied Logistics (IAL) of THWS has been working for more than 19 years on a translation-oriented and practical basis to develop solutions for current issues of corporate practice and research in the broad field of logistics. As a project partner and research institution, the institute works closely connected with municipalities and companies from industry, trade and logistics services. At the moment we have to occupy the following place in the REKLINEU project: Institute for Applied Logistics Projektmanager (m/d) in parttime (50%) Application code: 11.1.762 The place shall be occupied at the next possible time, the place of service shall be located in Würzburg. The recruitment is carried out within the framework of a project limited to 31.01.2028 and part-time (20 hours/week); an extension is sought. We also offer our support in the event of a doctoral project.

Your tasks in the REKLINEU project - Regional ways to climate-neutral universities: Design and implementation of an integrated sustainability assessment for sustainable procurement and disposal: You develop and implement a strategic guide for sustainable procurement and disposal that combines ecological, social and economic criteria. Their tasks include the evaluation of products and suppliers, with particular focus on emission reduction and compliance with the supply chain law. Their analyses support the strategic decision-making of the university. In addition, you identify optimization potentials for the continuous improvement of purchasing and waste management processes. Education and training to strengthen sustainable skills: You are responsible for the organisation and implementation of workshops that provide practical solutions to the sustainable procurement and disposal standards defined in the guide. You use modern didactic methods to promote active participation and to support implementation in various organizational areas. In addition, you will develop and implement training concepts that are adapted to the specific needs of employees in areas such as procurement and logistics in order to convey essential sustainability skills. Public relations and internal documentation: You support the development and implementation of communication strategies to strengthen awareness of sustainability and climate protection within the university. You create attractive information materials such as press releases, social media contributions and brochures that represent the climate protection initiatives and successes of the organization. In addition, you contribute to internal documentation by creating reports and presentations that document progress and challenges in implementing sustainable procurement and disposal measures. Identification of research needs for connection research: You carry out systematic analyses of existing projects and research results to identify gaps and future research needs that contribute to the further development of the field. You work with interdisciplinary teams to develop innovative issues that can serve as a basis for connection research projects. In addition, you are preparing proposals and concepts for new research approaches that are geared to current scientific and social challenges.

The employment and remuneration are governed by the relevant provisions of the collective agreement of the countries with all benefits customary in public service. The grouping is carried out in the case of all conditions in remuneration group 13 TV-L.
