Together for excellence. We develop the next generation of the Mercedes‐Benz User Experience with a focus on multimodal interaction (e.g. view, gestures, language and AI) in and on the vehicle. In our cross-functional team „Holistic Customer Centered Experiences“ at the Mercedes‐Benz RD site Sindelfingen/Böblingen, we design and implement innovative UX solutions in physical and digital experience and simulation environments and implement them prototypically. Our goal is a holistic customer experience beyond the vehicle. To support our team, we are looking for committed cooperation in the field of design, prototypical implementation and evaluation of future user experiences for a period of 5–6 months. A focus is on the development and evaluation of multimodal interaction concepts, including eye tracking, eye data analysis and pattern recognition, as well as the derivation and evaluation of findings from the holistic user behavior. In addition, approaches to state and emotional interpretation (affective computing) are taken into account. Depending on the task and interest, you bring your own ideas, implement them prototypically and evaluate them iteratively in our simulation and laboratory environments – in exchange with an international, cross-functional team. You work on interaction concepts for the interior of the vehicle and bring a profound understanding of their use in the real context of use as well as for typical driving and interaction situations. These challenges come to you, among other things: Development of innovative UX/UI concepts for future vehicle interactions, incl. User journeys and multimodal approaches Cooperation in research and development of eye interaction (eye tracking) and gaze detection systems Analysis of user behavior, integration of cloud-based AI models and evaluation of interaction concepts Prototypic implementation and evaluation of interaction concepts in test and simulation environments Responsible work in an agile, international team We offer you: Working with real prototypes and systems for future interaction concepts Combination of UX, technology, behavioral analysis and AI Insight into the development and integration of Gaze-based interaction systems Cooperation in an international, interdisciplinary team High design space and independent work The activity can start from October 2026.

enrolled in the study programme of media informatics, cognition sciences or comparable study programme Great interest in UX/UI Design, Human Computer Interaction, Software, AI and interactive systems, especially in multimodal interaction and user behavior analysis First experiences with UI/UX or prototyping tools (e.g. Figma) and basics in programming (e.g. Python) Structured, independent working and team spirit in an international environment Very good knowledge of German and English Safe handling of MS Office as well as tools for software development and collaboration (e.g. Atlassian Confluence, Jira) Own projects in the field of UX, interaction or prototyping would be ideal Experience with eye tracking, computer vision or usability research is desirable Additional information: We are looking forward to your online application with CV, lettering, certificates, current enrollment certificate with a specification of the semester, if necessary.
