We make port: With great passion, we keep running the infrastructure of the Port of Hamburg around the clock. We are more than 1,900 HPA colleagues who drive forward advanced ideas to develop Hamburg's heart and make the port a bit more sustainable every day.

The department Baugrund advises the projects and HPA services on all geotechnical issues. We award and accompany building ground explorations, sample loads and geotechnical reports. We also take care of ground and reservoir water measuring points. Geotechnical and geohydraulic calculations, such as proofs of the stability and suitability for use of foundation elements, proofs of stability of dikes and other earthworks, are prepared by us and tested in cooperation with the Static Testing Centre. We create investigation concepts and geotechnical reports for smaller projects. Conducting the drill and sample load archive is also part of our tasks.

Our heart beats for the Port of Hamburg, which connects us! You take over the technical and organizational management of the specialist unit Baugrund with a total of 7 employees. You are responsible for consulting other organizational units and external engineering offices in structural and earth-based issues as well as in the planning of ground exploration. You are responsible for testing and compiling erdstatic calculations in cooperation with the Static Audit Office. The support and award of building land and foundation reports also falls into the varied field of activity. Responsible cooperation in the planning and tendering of building land resolutions is also your task. Last but not least, you represent the HPA through your collaboration in committees or during presentation and publications in specialist journals or on specialist events.

You have successfully completed your studies in the field of civil engineering, as far as possible with orientation geotechnology. We are looking forward to many years of knowledge and practical experience in the field of basic construction and geotechnical engineering, in particular for buildings of port, water and deep mining. You have very good knowledge of technical standards and guidelines and have adequate knowledge of occupational safety. Special leadership skills for the responsible management of the unit are important to us. Your strong sense of responsibility, high cooperation and team skills as well as a targeted way of working round your profile.
