Braun Melsungen AG Location: DE-Melsungen (Schwarzenb. 21) Functional area: Research and development Working model: Hybrid Requirement number: 4588 For the Center of Excellence Infusion and Pain Therapy (CoE IPT) of the Department of Hospital Care we are looking for a Head of (w/m/d) Material Science & Consulting at the Melsungen site at the next possible time. The site is located in the Pre-Development area. Pre-Development @CoE IPT means being part of a highly motivated and specialized team in a wide range of fields in the natural sciences, and consistently promoting the development of new and innovative product and application ideas. In your role, you conduct a team that works on projects to optimize and develop material formulations for innovative therapy solutions. They will also be involved in material science issues of the current product portfolio. Together with your young and interdisciplinary team, you are shaping processes with you and improving the world through new, innovative products in the field of infusion and pain therapy.

You guide the team Material Analytics & Consulting with a focus on plastic analysis (currently 7 employees) You advise internally on plastic issues in projects They support prototype and product development in the material selection of suitable plastics for medical applications They constantly develop the core competencies of the team, in particular in the fields of plastics, plastics analysis and prototype construction and testing based on mechanical, chemical or thermodynamic basic principles They maintain contact with research institutions and product manufacturers in the field of material development and characterization and collaborate with them

They have a successfully completed master's degree in mechanical engineering with the subject of materials sciences, process engineering with the focus on plastics technology, chemistry with the focus on polymers or a related field of study You have several years of professional experience in the research and development of plastics (polymers) Ideally, you have already demonstrated your leadership qualities They provide excellent knowledge in the fields of polymer chemistry and physics as well as in polymer analysis You also have very good German and English skills Personal competencies They are characterized by strong team and communication skills Your ideas and goals can be successfully implemented Your work is independent and targeted They act customer-oriented and drive innovations and changes forward In addition, you appreciate and take into account the diversity of perspectives They are ready to travel around the world occasionally (about 10% of working time)
