DevSecOps Engineer Geo Information Systems (m/f/d)

The GIAS GeoInfo division builds a new engineer team for the operation of geoinformation systems (GIS, currently based on ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise and future open source as well as other manufacturers) and weather data processing systems (METOC). The focus is on the extensive and increasingly frequented systems of the German Geoinformation Service (GeoInfoDBw). These systems must meet high requirements in the production and provision of geo and weather products. The newly created team will support the migrations to the BWI and the users in questions and problems and will operate and develop the systems accordingly. The team will be responsible for providing, operating and developing geoinformation systems according to BWI requirements and for standardizing and automating procedures and tools.

Participation in planning, construction, operation and monitoring of complex IT systems, including associated database environments Development and operation of the GIS and METOC solutions created for the GeoInfoDBw as part of a DevSecOps team to achieve high usage and customer acceptance User support of the IT systems used by the GeoInfoDBw at office times and beyond as part of a readiness Participation in the implementation of IT operational tasks as well as in the implementation of operational stabilisation and optimization activities Participation in the quality-assured transfer of developed solutions to production in close coordination with the units concerned Implementation of IT security requirements, data protection and operation for the services responsible Implementation of change requests, e.g. as part of upgrades and updates Optimization of processes for IT operation of GIS and METOC-based processes and administration processes with regard to information security, standardization and automation

Successfully completed subject-related university studies or vocational training in IT At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in the development and operation of extensive IT systems and experience in the participation in complex IT projects

Experience in the operation and development of IT and GIS systems (ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise) including associated database environments and in the operation of METOC systems

Expertise in the automation of administrative and operational activities Practical experience in implementing and controlling as well as operating and supporting large IT system landscapes at technical level (Kubernetes, Linux, AIX, Windows, Script Programming) Knowledge of IT Security (BSI Basic Protection, ISO 27001) Experience in IT Service Management and IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) The position requires readiness to take over a 24/7 readiness (even on weekends, holidays and at night)
