Within the scope of its range of tasks, the Section 1.6 ''Schall'' deals with diverse topics within the field of acoustics, in particular acoustic measurement technology. Their tasks in the working group 1.63 “Geräuschmesstechnik” will contribute to the continuation of existing projects and the development of new topics. The activities shall include: Scientific development and support of acoustic calibration and testing services, in particular for the primary calibration of measuring microphones Development of measurement methods and techniques for use in the infrared and airborne sound frequency range Development of concepts, measurement technology and remote calibration methods for acoustic sensor networks for use in public space Development of robust validation methods for testing and quality control of software with machine learning methods in the field of acoustics and sound measurement Independent planning and recruitment of third-party funds and support for research projects Presentation and publication of scientific results

Higher education (Master/Diplom) in the field of mechanical engineering, mechatronics, electrical engineering, physics or comparable discipline with completed doctorate Expertise and experimental or theoretical experience in the field of acoustics and acoustic measurement technology Additional expertise in at least one of the following areas: infrasonic, airborne sound, acoustic signal analysis or processing, machine learning Ability to constructive discussion, also to ditching and critical handling of own findings Safe handling of legal texts and their application Impressed readiness and sense of responsibility as well as the willingness to assume leadership responsibility Embossed team and communication skills German (C2 level) and English (C1 level) readiness to travel in Germany and abroad Freedom of dizziness (working on a walkable network in the open field) As part of the selection process, you will run through an assessment centre in which we assess your skills and competencies with regard to the requirements for the management in the PTB.
