We operate specialist clinics for children and youth medicine, gynecology, geriatrics, psychiatry, emergency medicine, traumatology, anaesthesia / intensive care, surgery, urology and internal medicine. The team of the Department of Anesthesiology, Intensive Medicine, Pain Therapy and OP Management will carry out around 8,000 Narcoses per year at the Havelland clinics. In the new intensive care unit in Nauen, 10 intensive patients can be supervised:inside and 10 IMC patients. Our station in Rathenow is well equipped with seven interdisciplinary intensive beds. In daily work on the patient: a high degree of self-responsibility and design of the care that is individually adapted to the patient. In recent years, the stations have become a decisive factor in intensive medical treatment in the Havelland district. The IMC is located right next to the intensive care unit (ITS) and the operating rooms, with optimal adaptation of the processes to the needs of the severely ill care. The team of IMC consists of experienced employees of health care and nursing as well as specialist caregivers:inside, physiotherapists:inside, ergotherapists:inside and logoped:inside. The team also supports permanent employees in patient service and nursing assistance.

The tasks of a care specialist (PFK) in the intensive care unit (ITS) and the intermediate care (IMC) differ in particular from the degree of monitoring, the complexity of care and the technical support of patients. Both areas require a high level of expertise, but the ITS specialises in life-threatening cases, while the IMC forms the bridge between intensive and normal stations.

Tasks in intensive care (ITS) can be: At ITS, severely ill patients are cared for, often with 1:1 or 1:2 treatment. Continuous monitoring: monitoring of vital parameters (ECG, blood pressure, oxygen saturation) and immediate response to alarms. Beatmungspflege: care of invasive and non-invasively beaten patients, carrying out endotracheal suction. Drug management: High dosed administration of drugs, often via perfusors (e.g. catecholamines). Assistance in medical interventions: installation of central venous catheters (ZVK), arterial blood pressure measurement, dialysis method (CRRT). Basic and treatment care: storage for the relief of lungs, wound care, oral care in patients with ventilated patients. Emergency management: implementation of reanimation measures.

Tasks in Intermediate Care (IMC) can be: At the IMC, patients are supervised who need close-mesh monitoring, but no full intensive medical care. Monitoring: Comprehensive monitoring of vital values to detect malfunctions of the organs at an early stage. Breath therapy: support in mobilization and breathing therapy, application of high-flow oxygen therapy. Postoperative care: care after major operations (e.g. thorax surgery), monitoring after acceptance of the ventilation (extubation). Medication: administration of medicines by medical arrangement, usually less highly dosed than on the ITS. Mobilisation: Early mobilization and promotion of the patient's self-employment.
