The Institute for Sexual Research, Sexual Medicine and Forensic Psychiatry is one of the leading sexual sciences and forensic-psychiatric institutions in Europe. With funding from the EU, DFG, BMBF, Innovation Fund and others, we conduct clinical and supply research, social science research and experimental basic research.

On behalf of and in cooperation with the Authority for Justice and Consumer Protection of the Free Hanseatic City of Hamburg, we are opening a stationary short-term psychiatry at the Central Hospital of the Hamburg Detention Centre as of 01.09.2026. This is a psychiatric station with 11 to 14 beds, where only people who are currently in Hamburg's prison are treated. This stationary short-term psychiatry closes the gap between the outpatient prison psychiatric offer in the individual institutions and the cases that have to be transferred out of custody in accordance with legal provisions.

Your tasks:

  • They carry out the patient: internal treatments at the psychiatric short-term station. Observation and second vision are guaranteed
