The Department of Internal Medicine II represents in the Centre of Internal Medicine as part of the heart centre the focus of cardiology, angiology, pneumology, internalist intensive medicine as well as sports and rehabilitation medicine in medical care, medical training, teaching and research. More than 20,000 patients (w/m/d) are supplied annually. The Department of Internal Medicine II is equipped with five hybrid heart catheter laboratories, a TAVI center, a pacemaker/ICD implantation hall, state-of-the-art electrophysiology, 3D echocardiography and angiology laboratory, 2 magnetic resonance tomographs and a bronchoscopic hall.

central coordination tasks including appointment management, blood collection and installation of venous accesses encoding and settlement of patient cases in the university ambulance Cardiology/Pneumology/Angiology professional and administrative activities in the field of heart catheter laboratory (such as left heart catheters, heart valve therapy, pacemaker/DEFI implantation and structural heart disease) stationary patient management, including functional diagnostic studies, blood collection and patient administration Dismissal management with appointment management, coding diagnosis Assistance and organisation in the function areas of echocardiography, stress ECG and angiography with carrying out ultrasound examinations under medical supervision
