At the Esslingen-Mettingen site, we are looking for support from a student*in as part of a Bachelor's thesis in the Process Engineering and Environmental Engineering team in the field of process engineering. The main focus of the work is the maintenance of an experimental plant for the circulation of sludge medium on a wet separator in our gear parts production. The aim is a decentralized treatment of the sludge medium directly at the wet separator, in order to minimize water consumption, to relieve our wastewater treatment plant and to reduce cleaning expenses. These challenges include: Introduction to the functioning of the wet scrubber, the test system and the adjacent processes

Support and coordination of the experimental setup on a wet separator

Regular adaptation/optimization of process parameters

Developing an analysis strategy

Regular sampling on the wet separator for testing in our laboratories

Result assessment in respect of solids, biogrowth/fouling and service life

Documentation, discussion and presentation of results

Showing the potentials for a permanent implementation of decentralized processing

Testing of transferability to other wet scrubbers

During your work, you will receive support from experienced process engineers, our colleagues from environmental protection, as well as our specialists from plant operations.

The activity begins in September 2026. The final topics will be discussed with the university, you and us.
