Senior IT Architect in the Business Unit Analytics & Simulation (m/w/d)

As a primary digitization partner of the Bundeswehr, we provide stable, safe and efficient IT services in Germany and abroad, from basic operations to the field close to the application and thus contribute to the continuous increase in the leadership and operational capacity of the Bundeswehr. Senior IT-Architect in the Analytics & Simulation business segment (m/w/d) from 01.07.2025 and full-time at one of our BWI locations. In the field of Analytics & Simulation (A&S), we develop and operate IT for the Bundeswehr, which is required for the collection, analysis, compilation and use of data to achieve information dominance and superior decision speed. As a Senior IT-Architect, you are responsible for strategic and technological developments in the A&S business segment, which has high impact both on the customer and on the BWI business model. In A&S, we develop innovative solutions for digital transformation for and with our customer Bundeswehr. The focus is on data sciences and big data as well as increasing the use of artificial intelligence.

Responsibility for IT building planning in the fields of analytics, simulation and artificial intelligence

Together with the customer Bundeswehr, deriving the technical requirements and transferring them to a solution design

Creation of technical concepts and test scenarios for holistic IT solutions (solutions)

Coordination with BWI Services, Portfolio Management and Enterprise Lead Architects of BWI with regard to necessary (further) development of service architectures

Creation and coordination of technical performance descriptions, development of architectural design and support of project scaling

Close cooperation with development teams to implement solutions

Ensuring the integration of new solutions into existing system landscapes

Manage dependencies, changes and support for risk management

Leading an interdisciplinary, cross-service team and cooperation in working groups with the Bundeswehr

A completed study or comparable training in the STEM field and at least 4 years relevant professional experience as IT architect / technical IT consultant

Experience in the field of IT architecture management in complex projects as well as technology-wide IT skills in the field of A&S (e.g. in the development and use of cloud architecture, big data technologies, artificial intelligence)

Deep understanding of cloud and database architectures, data analytics, data engineering, foundation models, AI frameworks and libraries

Experience in the field of information security and data protection, ideally in the administrative context

A high level of sense of responsibility as well as customer and service-oriented thinking and acting

Very good German knowledge
