System Engineer – Business Applications (m/w/d)

from now on and in full time in Berlin, Munich or Strausberg, alternatively nationwide at one of our BWI locations

As a primary digitization partner of the Bundeswehr, we provide stable, safe and efficient IT services in Germany and abroad, from basic operations to the field close to the application and thus contribute to the continuous increase in the leadership and operational capacity of the Bundeswehr. With over 7,700 colleagues, we operate and modernise one of the largest and most complex IT infrastructures in Germany. We are looking for responsible IT specialists who are convinced that the Bundeswehr-IT will further develop in challenging digitalization projects and thus contribute to Germany's security.

The Business Applications department is responsible for the construction, operation and optimization of complex and constantly growing system environments and procedures based on Redhat Linux, HCL Domino, Java, PHP, etc. In addition, service-specific IT solutions are developed, integrated and tested according to service design and service transition requirements, as well as specialist concepts for delivery units are created and maintained.

Your profile:

• Completed IT vocational training (e.g. technical informatics system integration) and 4 years of professional experience or IT studies and 2 years of relevant experience

• Very good knowledge of one or more of the following technologies

• Web servers (Apache) and application servers (Tomcat)

• Linux operating systems (e.g.: CentOS, Open SuSE, RedHat Enterprise Linux, Debian, SuSE Linux Enterprise Server)

• Databases (e.g.: MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL)

• LAMP based applications

• Container technologies

• Git/Git-Ops

• Basic understanding TCP networks such as firewalling, network structure, security

• Good knowledge with CMDB/Asset management systems

• ITIL Basic knowledge (Change/Incident/problem management)

• Flowing German and good English skills

Your tasks:

• 2nd Level Support for LAMP (Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP) - Platforms and Applications
• Creation of release and deployment plans
• Creation, installation, testing and implementation of software and configuration changes taking into account the existing IT infrastructure
• Processing of faults according to the BWI specification (interception, error analysis, troubleshooting)
• Identification of risks, as well as security and security risks
• Participation in the development of training concepts
• Care and development of technical documentation
