Senior Machine Learning Engineer (AI Platform)

As part of the Platform Engineering domain, the AI Platform team is responsible for designing, building, and operating the infrastructure and tooling that make AI use cases scalable, reliable, and easy to adopt, across both Machine Learning and Generative AI domains. We are looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer with strong software engineering and infrastructure engineering skills, platform thinking, and leadership skills to join our evolving AI Platform team. You will shape platform direction, lead the design of core components, and play a key role in ensuring that our AI Platform evolves to meet growing business and product needs. Lead cross-functional collaboration as part of the AI Platform team, working with Software Engineers, SREs, and internal AI customers (e.g. Data Scientists and Backend Engineers) Design, build, and operating platform components that enable scalable and reliable workflows for model training, deployment, inference, and monitoring Engage with internal customers to understand their workflows and use cases, and deliver self-service platform capabilities that allow Data Scientists and Backend Engineers to build and ship AI independent features Lead the discovery technical and architecture of new platform features such as a Feature Platform, model registries, or serving abstractions Own and evolve engineering best practices across software development, DevOps for ML, and production ML Take ownership of the reliability, scalability, and developer experience of the platform, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement Provide leadership in shaping platform and champion platform thinking across AI initiatives in the company Mentor engineers within the team, contribute to a healthy engineering culture, and support hiring efforts as we continue to grow

What you need to be successful: Background: Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related technical field Strong grasp of ML lifecycle needs, software principles, and modern platform infrastructure Proven ability to operate autonomously in high-responsibility roles with broad scope Profiles: 5+ years of experience delivering production-grade ML systems, ideally within platform teams or at-scale environments Strong hands-on development skills in Python, with experience designing robust, maintainable codebases Experience with cloud-native ML infrastructure, especially AWS SageMaker, Bedrock, Lambda, or ECS Deep understanding of the ML lifecycle, and experience building reusable capabilities like model registries, feature stores, training pipelines, or monitoring systems Deep familiarity with Terraform, Kubernetes, Kafka, and similar distributed systems Track record of mentoring engineers, leading technical initiatives, and being a visible contributor to team and domain-wide goals Ability to see beyond individual features and deliver in a domain-wide context Nice to haves: Experience building GenAI platforms or working with RAG pipelines, LLM APIs, and prompt orchestration Experience with multi-tenant platform design, including access control, cost management, and usage monitoring Exposure to platform product thinking (e.g., designing for self-service, usability, and customer feedback loops) Familiarity with the TypeScript programming language Previous engagement activities in hiring or team building Traits: Proactive, solution-oriented mindset, with ownership over outcomes and platform quality Exceptional team player and clear, structured communicator who can bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders Enthusiastic about enabling others and raising the level of collaboration and engineering maturity across teams Comfortable navigating uncertainty and leading the way in emerging technical domains
