Your role Design the next generation of high-precision coordinate measuring instruments with us. In the global system development, you work as a central interface between structural design and construction and ensure that models become standard products. Together with colleagues in Oberkochen, Slupsk (Poland) and Suzhou (China), you shape our future measuring instrument portfolio. You hit the bridge between model and product: You combine static, dynamic and thermal structure design with mechanical design and ensure that model-based assumptions in the real product are implemented technically and efficiently.
Based on existing models (e.g. from Thermik, Dynamics, Structure), you can independently perform parameter variations, meet the same requirements against each other, solve target conflicts at module and system level and develop the technically best solution for our coordinate measuring devices.
You bring simulation and series together: You translate simulation results into production-oriented series designs and use common simulation and modeling tools (e.g. Matlab, FEM/Ansys) as well as CAD and PDM systems.
In addition, you take over classic design tasks: creation and maintenance of CAD models and drawings, tolerance management and piece list maintenance, secure coordination with purchasing, manufacturing and quality as well as accompanying the industrialization of new assemblies to the series.
You cooperate with the internal knowledge building for the field of simulation/construction and implement new standards for working together with the team.

Multiannual professional experience in the development of structural mechanics, simulation or structural engineering – ideally related to precision machines or complex mechanical systems.

Experience in both simulation and construction of components/modules (e.g. Creo or a comparable CAD system).

Teamability, careful and responsible working and good English skills in word and writing.
