The Chemical and Veterinary Investigation Office Rhein-Ruhr-Wupper (CVUA-RRW) is looking for an indefinite period as of 1 January 2027 and full-time Senior Consultant (m/w/d) for the management of the ‘Animal Health’ business unit (A 15 LBesG NRW or pay group 15 TVöD VKA - with allowance) The Chemical and Veterinary Investigation Office Rhein-Ruhr-Wupper (CVUA-RRW) is an official examination laboratory in the field of consumer health protection as an institution of public law. The CVUA-RRW is one of five CVUÄ in NRW, which work together on the basis of the erection regulation and are in a constructive exchange. It expects a technically well-equipped diagnostic laboratory, which in four fields is the pathological, microbiological, serological, virological and molecular biological examination tasks with approx. 70 highly motivated employees. You are responsible for the “Animal Health” business unit and report directly to the supervisor. When performing the tasks, you will be assisted by four specialist departments.

You are responsible for the strategic and operational management of the “Animal Health” business unit and its continued development As a member of the five-member management group, you are in direct contact with the other business units Agreements and cooperation with the other CVUÄ in NRW and with the veterinary and food monitoring offices in NRW Reports and expert opinions for overarching authorities, courts and also cooperation in specialised work groups and bodies You support the maintenance and further development of the existing QM system (ISO 17025:2018) and laboratory information management system You represent animal health at relevant events and support scientific publications in the relevant media You support the department in implementing occupational safety requirements and other legal requirements

You have the following knowledge and skills that you can demonstrate with meaningful documentation: successfully completed university studies in veterinary medicine (Approbation as a veterinarian/animalian) Multiannual experience in managing and designing employees, ideally also in multi-level leadership hierarchies Remarkable is: Physician or doctoral doctor or doctorate or successful completion of the examination for the veterinary state service (Kreisexamen) You have knowledge about quality management systems You bring experience in communication in crises and cooperation between different authorities (Bund, Country, Communes) with reliable knowledge of German (flowing in word and writing) In addition, the following general competencies are expected: You have a look for the whole and are able to develop processes and strategies for the future.
