Trainee Digital Rail – Project Management Interlocking Projects (m/f/d)

At the Digital Rail Germany (DSD), you can – as a trainee you become the driver:in for innovative solutions (including the European Train Control System (ETCS), Digital Stellwerke (DSTW))) and get a unique opportunity in a dynamic environment: you design topics from conception to implementation and at the same time build one of the most pioneering areas in the history of rail transport. Now is the most exciting time to get in! As of September 1, 2026, we are looking for Stellwerksprojekte (w/m/d) for DB InfraGo AG at the Hamburg or Hanover site for the trainee program Digitale Rail in project management. During your 18-month trainee period, we will allow you to take part in a certificate course at the FH Erfurt together with other trainees. Here you can learn everything about the digitalization of the railway system and get fit for the start of the profession. Your tasks:

As a trainee, you will strengthen the team from the outset in the implementation of the cost-, time- and quality-oriented implementation of planning, awarding, construction, acceptance and commissioning of our projects in the field of control engineering as well as constructions (digital engineering and control centers) You participate in the project-related implementation of risk management and learn to apply the applicable standards and guidelines in practice You will also accompany our experienced engineers: in coordination with the federal authorities (BMDV and EBA), participating third parties and, if necessary, railways of neighbouring countries After being incorporated by the close sponsorship, you take on your own first task packages, such as coordination and commissioning of specialist planning services (tasks, performance directories, tender documents and award documents) for our projects After you have gained ground-specific knowledge in basic seminars, you will quickly take on self-responsive project tasks and thus contribute to the nationwide rollout of modern control systems technology. You will get to know other areas of the railway in your own with selected practical stations In coordination, you will help to obtain the project-related approvals required for us (construction clearance, interim and final acceptance, EC verification) At the end of the trainee period, you will continue to work in our project team on the basis of your accumulated experience in the target function tailored to your leadership and give your knowledge to the next professional beginners:

Your profile:

You have successfully completed a technical/university study in civil engineering, transport engineering, electrical engineering/telecommunication technology, control and safety technology, industrial engineering or in a comparable course of study, with your degree no longer than two years back In addition, you are passionate about the rail system and want to actively shape the digitalization of the rail mode Your first practical experience has been collected in the field of project management An independent way of working as well as the ability to permeate complex situations, distinguish yourself You bring the willingness to learn and the will to work quickly into new topics and tasks You also have very good analytical and conceptual skills Flowing German knowledge (at least C1 level) complete your profile
