With the entry of the two sons Oliver and Christian into the company, the Drewes family lives their passion for food in the third generation. Everything started in the Hanseatic city of Hamburg in 1931. Willy Drewes opened its first market in Hammerlandstraße, shortly afterwards in 1932 a second market in Schwarzestraße. In the Second World War, the two markets were destroyed and the Drewes family dared a new beginning at the gates of Hamburg in Dollern: In 1948, Willy Drewes opened a small shop in the village street, where son Claus Drewes had already decided early. At the beginning, the family gave their best at just 28 square meters to inspire their customers with a surprisingly wide yet deep assortment with a focus on freshness, quality and regionality. Claus Drewes and his wife Marlis Drewes gradually enlarged the business in the village road to the move in 1989 to the outskirts of the bus pond and directly to the center of Dollern. Here, the Drewes family and their team have quickly also been able to win national customers for themselves. In 2017, another location is added: The Drewes family takes over the former market purchase in the neighbouring Horneburg and will open the first E-CENTER in the region in summer 2018. With the simultaneous remodelling of the market in Dollern, the Drewes family and their team have not only built a state-of-the-art pleasure market that wants to meet all the modern needs of the customers, but also the management and administration of the company with the new office tract from here in the future attracts all threads.
