The Leipzig Judicial Detention Centre with Hospital has 446 detention places and is responsible for the execution of investigative detention in male adults for the district of Leipzig, the execution of imprisonment until two years (completement) in adult men for the districts of Leipzig and Torgau, as well as the execution of replacement sentences.

The hospital of the Leipzig judiciary detention centre has a total of 80 beds, including 50 beds in a psychiatric/psychotherapeutic department and 30 beds in the somatic department. It is responsible for the stationary care of the prisoners in the Free State of Saxony.

Interesting tasks

Their field of application is versatile, challenging and exciting. It includes:

• Guidance and supervision of prisoners employed in all work in cooperation with a staff member employed in the field of work
• Planting, wood-cut, planting, cleaning
