About us The IT services provide all areas of the university with IT services. You develop and operate the central IT infrastructure and support university processes with specific applications. IT services operate according to the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL). Our Data Center department is responsible for the high-availability 24/7 data center operation and the entire network infrastructure of all university locations in Oldenburg and Wilhelmshaven. We operate a complex data and telephony network with about 30 Tsd. Endpoints and about 12 Tsd. Wi-Fi users/day. The network extends from the university's central campus via the university clinics, the state museums and the Landesbibliothek as well as other research institutions in Oldenburg and Wilhelmshaven. Conception, development and documentation of network infrastructure (LAN / WAN / WLAN / VPN / VoIP) Monitoring and improving the technical infrastructure of multi-site networks and configuration in the context of operational requirements Development and operation of the infrastructure for DNA, DHCP, IP address management and QoS Planning and control of IT security: Next Generation firewalls configuration taking into account operating and overriding regulations, vulnerability analysis, intrusion detection and safety-related events ensuring the operation and improvement of the technical infrastructure as part of operational requirements; compilation of system documentation and operating manuals; Processing of user requests as well as fault messages on the services of the IT services, including the analysis of faults and their isolation, as well as remedying them in compliance with the associated processes.

Required As far as possible completed university studies (Bachelor / Dipl.-Ing. [FH]), preferably the (economic) informatics / applied computer science or a mathematical/technical/natural science degree or if possible a completed training (BBiG) (e.g. as a specialist informant) with relevant professional experience (requirement of proof); proven professional experience in network design and the administration of complex and highly available network architectures, especially in the areas of routing, switching, VLAN, VPN and VoIP Experiences in monitoring, analysis and failure of networks and evaluation of network tracks, TCP/IP traffic and log files. professional experience and knowledge in the configuration and operation of network components from different manufacturers – preferably Cisco sound knowledge of the configuration and operation of firewalls – preferably Palo Alto User and process-oriented work an independent way of working, communication strength and a cool head and an overview in work-intensive situations fluent knowledge of German and good knowledge of English in word and writing Required / Advantage Knowledge in the field of IT security procedures (BSI Grundschutz, ISO 27001 or ISO 27006) or related further developments with the focus on IT security the claim and will for continuous professional and personal development
