Executive Architect for GMN and the GeoInfo business unit (m/w/d)

Executive Architect for GMN and the business field GeoInfo (m/w/d) from 01.07.2025 and in full time in Bonn or Meckenheim. In the Customer Solution Unit “GeoInfo, Analytics & Simulation” (CS GIAS), we provide the Bundeswehr with the necessary IT for the collection, georeference, analysis, compilation and use of data so that it can reach an information dominance and a superior decision speed. Their main task as Executive Architect is the responsibility of the application architecture of the Geoinformation Systems (GIS) in the program German Mission Network (GMN). To do this, you will develop the existing GIS environment of the GMN program according to current standards and adapt the architecture to current requirements. As a central product, the ArcGIS Enterprise is used by ESRI and the other ESRI product world will bring you advanced experience. As an IT architect, you will also coordinate the processes of the GeoInfo Cluster and the projects we implement for the GeoInformation Service of the Bundeswehr (GeoInfoDBw). They cooperate with internal and external knowledge providers, users and manufacturers on the requirements of the GeoInfoDBw.

Takeover and further development of GIS architecture in the GMN program based on ArcGIS Enterprise (ESRI) Recording, evaluation and coordination of technical requirements of the customer within the BWI and the customer organization

Creation of technical concepts and test cases for holistic IT/TK Solutions as part of projects taking into account safety, compliance and governance requirements

Coordination of solutions with BWI Services with regard to the necessary (further) development of service architectures and with BWI's portfolio management

Compilation of technical performance descriptions, development of architectural sketches and support in project calculations

Independently responsible clarification of technical issues during the project period including BWI Services and in coordination with the project manager*in

Management of technical dependencies, changes and support in risk management in projects

Cooperation in interdisciplinary and cross-service teams and working groups of the customer

ArcGIS Enterprise: They bring profound knowledge and at least 3 years of experience in the fields of architecture management of GIS environments based on ESRI products with Study in the field of IT and/or comparable training and at least 6 years of relevant professional experience as an IT architect

Remarkable: CPRE Foundation certification as well as experience in handling ARIS and SPARX EA

Experiences in the area of information security ideally in the administrative context of particularly protective data (VSA-compliant architectures)

High level of sense of responsibility, customer and service-oriented thinking and team-oriented action

Excellent analysis and presentation skills, very good communication and team skills, good organizational and coordination skills and decision-making and enforcement strength

Experience in Bundeswehr projects is advantageous

Very good German knowledge
