Electrical Engineering Engineer \u2012 Electrical Networks & Grid Integration

Оccupation: Engineer - electrical engineering

The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft ([www.fraunhofer.de](https://www.fraunhofer.de/ "www.fraunhofer.de")) is one of the world's leading organisations for application-oriented research. 74 institutes develop groundbreaking technologies for our economy and society – more precisely: 30 000 people from technology, science, administration and IT. You know, who comes to Fraunhofer wants and can change something. For yourself, for us and the markets of today and tomorrow.

At the Fraunhofer Institute for Wind Energy Systems IWES, the energy transition becomes reality every day. Our focus topics are: offshore wind energy, hydrogen, testing infrastructure and digitalization. More than 400 employees – around 100 of them – from more than 50 countries, work at nine locations in scientific and non-scientific teams to develop innovative methods to accelerate the expansion of wind energy and hydrogen management, minimize risks and increase cost efficiency. Do you want to shape the future with us?

Here you ask for change

You strengthen us in the group "Power Electronics and Network Integration" at Bremerhaven. We are engaged in the network integration of wind turbines (WEA) and wind and hybrid parks. Currently, the team consists of five employees and several students. Regardless of projects and backgrounds, we support each other. The open exchange and cooperation, also beyond team boundaries and locations, are particularly important to us.

You work with us in parallel in various research and industrial projects. Your tasks range from the support during the commissioning of a converter test stand to the optimization and extension of other test stands with a focus on the "Power-Hardware-in-the-loop" approach. You work with various real-time systems, set network models and develop test methods for generating measurement data for model validation of harmonic and EMT models. You will document your results in scientific reports and publications.

You carry out tasks in project management and, at the time, the management of individual research and industrial projects. In addition, take the test stand service and work actively during testing. The projects are in close cooperation with national and international customers and project partners.

This brings you a

You have completed your Diploma / Master in Electrical, Energy or Regulatory Engineering, Mechatronics or Industrial Engineering, with one of the above mentioned priorities. You have at least theoretical knowledge of control technology and network modeling. Besides, you have a fundamental knowledge of electrical energy systems and power electronics? With MATLAB and PSCAD you already had first touch points? Perfect!

Do you want to not only understand and edit a research topic, but also have fun in writing and presenting your results? Great! Maybe you've already worked at test stands and know what challenges can arise. But don't worry if your skills don't cover all fields yet. With us you can also master your career. If you have any experience, you can expand it with us. We act on the IWES at an international level, which is why, in addition to German and English, you are important for your everyday work.

What we keep ready for you
