The Department of Regional Development, Energy and Climate Protection has set itself the goal of acquiring and implementing sustainable development processes based on the region's own possibilities and strengths. In addition to the coordination of local and regional settlement and industrial development planning, the Department addresses tasks in the area of the energy and mobility transition, the support of the Geographic Information System (GIS), and public transport (ÖPNV). The management for climate change adaptation is integrated into the department as a new task and works closely with existing climate protection management. This new task is based on the amendment of the Energy Transition and Climate Protection Act by which all circles are required to establish the concept for climate change adaptation.

• Coordination of the award procedure -Representation of the commissioned service provider for process support Support for the circular municipalities in the acquisition of finance and funding for project development and realization in the context of climate adaptation Development of opinions, position and working papers and templates for municipal bodies Representation of the Steinburg County at external events for municipal climate adaptation - network work, exchange, coordination and cooperation with the climate adaptation managers of other districts and municipalities in Schleswig-Holstein and representation of interests for the Steinburg County in the network

A prerequisite for the job is a successfully completed (specialised) university degree (Diplom/Bachelor) in the field of environmental, sustainability or spatial sciences, such as geography or spatial planning with a focus on sustainability (e.g. environmental science, sustainability) or with a focus on public relations (e.g. public relations, communication sciences) Knowledge of climate impacts and impacts and implementation of climate adaptation measures as well as knowledge in building and maintaining networks and the German language level C2 of the Common European Framework of Reference
