Research Associate (m/f/d)

The focus is on research work within the framework of the ZDIN project ''Central Labore Digitization in Lower Saxony – Central Laboratory Water.'' In particular: Cooperation and development of a self-connecting LoRa communication network for environmental sensor technology, water management and extreme value detection Development and programming of sensor nodes, receiving stations and data cutting points (hardware/software) Construction of circuit boards and housings Preparation, evaluation and analytical consideration of research and development results and cooperation on other subprojects Preparation and preparation of publications (English and German) as well as scientific documentation and report reimbursement on the results of national and international congresses/conferences Cooperation with the establishment of data and document exchange platforms and the creation of (project-related) research applications and follow-up applications

is a completed academic degree programme (Dipl. [Uni]/Master) in the field of marine engineering, electrical engineering, computer science or comparable relevant disciplines that enable successful implementation of the tasks. Furthermore, it is assumed that: Good programming knowledge in C/C++ for programming microcontrollers, including interrupts (especially Raspberry Pico 2) Knowledge of construction and 3D printing Good language skills (word/writing) in German and English Remarkable are: Basic electronics skills and knowledge in radio / network / communication protocols such as LoRa, RS232, RS485, SPI, I2C, 1-Wire Basic experience in electronics and the development of circuit boards Database knowledge Optimal knowledge and experience in the field of AI and sensor physics Basic knowledge of marine/aquatic measurement technology and field experience A self-sponsored working style, willingness to develop one's own, continuous training, commitment and joy in teamwork, motivation to work with challenging research tasks Willingness to cooperate with partners within the research project Standing and ability to carry out field campaigns and/or ship-based expeditions, whose participation may require working time outside usual periods.
