THE ROLE & THE TEAM As a (Health &) Safety Manager*in, you will be able to introduce our Safety Specialists and operational safety experts. Together with your team, you will ensure smooth and safe processes and strengthen the health and safety culture at our site. Your work is characterized by a motivating team spirit based on appreciation, respect and openness. Together with your team, you will support the operational performance of your work safety goals and work actively to improve our safety concept. WHY THE ROLE FOR YOU SPEAKING You make sure that all legal requirements regarding occupational safety, health protection, fire protection and environmental protection are fully complied with.

You advise executives and employees on all safety topics, emergency concepts and the safe design of jobs.

You develop location-specific safety programs, carry out risk assessments and actively promote a positive safety culture.

You support training, audits, inspections and accident investigations and organize the training of first and fire protection workers.

You analyze key safety key figures, start reporting and take targeted prevention measures.

You control cooperation with authorities, professional associations, fire brigade, company doctor and works council and represent the department in bodies (e.g. ASA meetings).

WHAT DO YOU KNOW WHAT? You bring a technical study or training (technical technician, engineer, master) as well as the qualification as a specialist for occupational safety (§5 ASiG) and multiannual HSE career experience.

You have well-founded knowledge in the safety control; Additional qualifications as fire protection or hazardous material officers are a plus (or you will be happy to continue this).

With high operational readiness, you take proactive responsibility, recognize optimization potentials and develop our security culture independently.

You work strongly analytical, solution-oriented and structured, even in the organization and prioritization of complex tasks.

You communicate convincingly, you can convey expertise in a comprehensible way and work safely with common IT tools (ideally Google Workspace).

You have the willingness to keep you up to date in new security issues and legislation.

LOCATION: Casting Our European logistics network is growing: we are currently in the preparatory phase for the opening of our new site in Gießen (Hessen), which is just an hour away from Frankfurt am Main. The 130,000 square meter logistics centre is operated by Zalando and is designed for up to 1,700 employees. From this location, 2026 customers in Germany and neighbouring markets will receive their packages from summer. Our logistics staff ensure that more than 50 million Zalando customers receive their orders reliably every day in more than 25 European markets. Zalando now has a Europe-wide logistics network with twelve locations in seven countries. In Germany alone, around 6,000 employees from over 100 nations work on five Zalando logistics sites.
