Lead Software Engineer / Developer - Mission System (w/m/d) In the Multi-Domain Solutions Engineering, we develop innovative solutions for a wide range of applications in the fields of air, land, sea and cyber, through early phase concept studies to fully qualified systems. Our work deals with (military) mission systems or other overall solutions in customer order. We are also pioneers in software-defined defence. If you are excited about the development of future aviation technologies, as well as experience in the development of software for mission systems, you can support us as follows: We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer for an outstanding, national development project of high complexity. This is a complete weapon system in the area of Eletronic Warfare with cross-domain capabilities including flying systems, ground station and connected data analysis. The realization takes place at several locations in Germany in close cooperation with the later users and partners.

Technical leadership and planning of complex major projects Responsibility for the overall architecture of the distributed mission system, including modularization, interface cutting, verification, validation and technological development Professional leadership, mentoring and knowledge transfer of development and integration teams: Code Reviews, Coding Guidelines, Knowledge Transfer and Engineering Standards Self-implementation of SW - development structures in time, cost and quality (project-wide) Assessment and selection of technologies, libraries and problem-solvern – including license, support and long-term consequences Analysis of solution quality and runtime based on defined benchmarks; systematic performance engineering (profiling, parallelization, storage behavior) Building and further development of the test strategy: unit, integration and regression tests, including regression tests on solution quality and runtime Responsibility for CI/CD pipelines, build system, static analysis and security aspects of the supply chain (DevSecOps) Ensuring resilient technical documentation for development, integration and operation Participation in technology roadmaps, technical advice and support in offerings

completed university studies (Master/Diplom) of computer science or a comparable engineering course or a comparable qualification; a PhD related to mission systems in computer science is advantageous Multiannual professional experience in professional software development, of which detectable experience in a leading or architectural role Practical experience with Rust, C++ or sound knowledge of a comparable system-oriented language combined with the willingness to acquire programming languages at a productive level Knowledge of algorithms and data structures as well as combinatorial optimization (e.g. metaheuristics, column generation) and corresponding libraries are advantageous Structured, independent working and willingness to make and represent technical decisions Experience in requirements management and direct coordination with users and stakeholders Safe handling of agile approach models and prioritization under competing objectives Ability to clearly present technical facts and conflicts of interest to non-technical contact persons Very good knowledge of German and English in word and writing Standing for occasional missions
