Monitor battery cell chemistry, process, and equipment trends and contribute to technology roadmaps. Translate cell production and environmental requirements into factory, utility, cleanroom, and dry room design. Lead equipment and utilities benchmarking (specifications, utility loads, throughput KPIs) to drive layout, capacity, and facility design. Support gigafactory planning from concept through detailed design and execution, including tool installation, ramp-up, and commissioning. Prepare and manage Tool Utility Matrices (TUM) and derive Facility Utility Matrices (FUM) to inform MEP and CSA design. Collaborate with clients, equipment suppliers, and EPC partners on concept design, layouts, process flows, utilities integration, capacity scaling, and business development.
Master's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or a related field with experience in battery, automotive, or high‐tech manufacturing. Hands-on experience with-ion cell manufacturing equipment, utilities specifications, and preparation of TUM and FUM. Proven experience in gigafactory planning or delivery with solid understanding of lithium-ion chemistry and production processes. Strong industry network with OEMs and equipment suppliers and engaging vendors and partners. Expertise in fab and equipment layouts, feasible, concept development, and basic to detailed design, including proficiency in 2D AutoCAD and layout and flow modeling tools. Solid understanding of CSA and MEP disciplines, experience working in multidisciplinary teams, and ability to communicate complex topics clearly. Willingness to undertake occasional travel to client sites and vendor locations as required. Fluency in English, German highly beneficial.
