Director Global Transport Management (m/f/d)

As Director Global Transportation Management, you are responsible for and controlling the global end-to-end transport strategy, the standards and the operational execution model within MANN+HUMMEL. You define and implement a uniform transport management framework (one template' approach), including supplier management (transport service provider), global tender management and the establishment and future operation of a global transport management center. The role ensures that the transport processes in all regions, clusters and plants are optimized for cost, consistent and efficient. In addition, the position acts as a global functional entity and central contact with operations (OPS), regions, purchasing (procurement) and GBTS. Your challenge: Responsibility for the global transport management strategy and the control of the single template approach across all regions, clusters and works. Development, implementation and continuous improvement of global standards for the management of transport service providers, including performance management (MBR/QBR) and corresponding contractual frameworks. Ensuring the worldwide standardization of transport contracts, freight rate models and service definitions in close coordination with purchasing. Definition and implementation of standardised tender processes and implementation of global and regional tenders in cooperation with the regional transport management and procurement teams. Establishment and operation of a Global Transportation Management Center (TMC) with the involvement of GBTS to promote operational excellence and efficiency. Drive the reduction and consolidation of fragmented 4PL solutions for a standardized operating model. Ensure cross-area and regional coordination and exchange of best practices within the global transport management community. Definition and control of transport KPIs, creation of performance transparency and establishment of standardized reporting structures.

Your profile: Education: Successfully completed university studies in the field of supply chain management, logistics, business management, economic engineering or in a comparable degree course. Professional experience: More than 10 years of professional experience in global transportation management, logistics or supply chain management.

Expertise: Detectional successes in the development and implementation of global transport strategies as well as in the transporting Tender Management and in the control of logistics service providers (3PL/4PL). Funded knowledge in Transportation Management Systems (TMS) as well as in SAP-based logistics and transport processes. Experience with shared service models or Service centers as well as in the transformation and continuous development of global operating and organizational models.

Languages: English knowledge in word and writing; further language skills are advantageous. Personality: Excellent leadership and very good stakeholder management in complex global matrix organisations. Strategic thinking combined with high implementation strength and clear outcome orientation. High intercultural competence and willingness to travel globally of up to 50%.
