Your duties

• They work in a small team of experts and are involved in national and international projects.
• They support the Seismic team in Erlangen (Germany) as well as team members in Mexico and India and work independently on complex tasks in projects and alerts worldwide.
• They support the tendering projects in customer negotiations and define guarantees to meet customer and legal requirements. In the execution projects, you will advise on the implementation of the necessary measures for the electrical components and supports to meet the seismic requirements. You will participate in negotiations and technical clarifications with internal and external suppliers.
• They test the seismic resistance of our electrical and electromechanical equipment. If necessary, define concepts for retrofitting or seismic protection or basic insulation systems to improve the seismic performance of our components and solutions for the entire energy business.
• They perform or verify static and dynamic calculations using the finite element method using the SAP2000 software from CSI Berkeley or ANSYS.
• They support the Seismic team in creating or reviewing seismic qualification reports according to international standards such as IEEE693 / IEEE1527 / ASCE113 / IEC62271 or country-specific standards.
• They support the team in monitoring or conducting shaking table tests of electrical components or systems according to IEEE693.

Your profile

• You have completed a Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• You have relevant professional experience (at least 3 years) in the field of seismic design or qualification of installations in the field of energy generation / transmission or in comparable areas.
• You are experienced in the device qualification by FEM.
• You have experience using Modal Response Spectra Analysis and/or linear and nonlinear time profile analysis.
• They speak and write fluent English and are safe in business, contractual and technical discussions.
• You speak and write fluent German
• You may have additional language skills and intercultural experiences.
• You have expertise in handling finite element software SAP2000, ETABS and/or ANSYS.
• Your profile includes good teamwork, very good analytical skills and good IT skills.
• They have good planning and organizational skills and work independently, methodically and systematically.
