As a primary digitization partner of the Bundeswehr, we provide stable, safe and efficient IT services in Germany and abroad, from basic operations to the field close to the application and thus contribute to the continuous increase in the leadership and operational capacity of the Bundeswehr. With more than 8,000 colleagues, we operate and modernise one of the largest and most complex IT infrastructures in Germany. In the Customer Solution Unit “GeoInfo, Analytics & Simulation” (GIAS), we provide the IT for the Bundeswehr, which is required for the collection, georeference, analysis, combination and use of data in order to achieve information dominance and a superior decision speed. For this, we bundle responsibility for forward-looking customer solutions in the BWI. We advise our customers to transfer strategic goals into concrete requirements and plan, implement and operate the resulting solutions together with other specialist areas of the BWI.

As a senior solution architect for position management systems, you design the technical architecture for one or more IT solutions to increase the position of the Bundeswehr – from initiation, conception, construction to operation

Translation of the strategic goals of the Bundeswehr into tangible architectures and design of the technical basis for our IT solutions

Transfer of classic systems to a modern target architecture or building new cloud-based architectures

For this purpose, you coordinate various specialist architects and use them as a central solution architect technology – in the case of systems in operation but also new systems

You understand how important it is to build structures for service management and information security, and you are already thinking about it.

You represent the complex technical facts for the Bundeswehr and within the BWI levels

Complete study of economic informatics, computer science or comparable qualification At least seven years of experience as an IT architect, Solution Architect or in comparable role as an architect within complex, strategic IT projects Expertise in common methods of classic and modern IT architecture management. Detections based on certifications in IT architecture frameworks e.g. TOGAF or CPSA and relevant tools e.g. Enterprise Architect, Visio, draw.io are desirable At least three years of experience in building data-centered analysis platforms in the fields of data fusion, databases or applications for the implementation of decision support systems. These used modern tools, technologies and methods such as advanced analytics, big data, cognitive computing or artificial intelligence based on modern cloud native architectures (e.g. Kubernetes, Microservices, CI/CD). Experiences in the customer environment of the Bundeswehr, authorities or global industrial companies, especially in the field of VSA-compliant architectures are desirable. High level of responsibility, self-employment and target orientation.
