Lead Automation Engineer - Technical Lead Commissioning (m/f/d)

As a Technical Lead Automation Engineer, you are responsible for the technical management of a team of around 12 junior and senior commissioning engineers. You accompany complex automation projects from installation to commissioning to qualification - with a clear focus on hand-on mentality, technical excellence and sustainable solutions.

Your main tasks are:

Technical leadership and responsibility Professional leadership, coordination and further development of an interdisciplinary commissioning team Central technical contact for complex mechanical and automation issues Ensuring best practices in commissioning, testing and system integration Commissioning & Troubleshooting Active cooperation and control of the commissioning of Storage & Retrieval Machines (SRMs), conveyor technology (roller, chain conveyors etc.) and AGVs and other automated material flow systems Analysis and sustainable improvement of complex hardware and software disorders Development and establishment of Troubleshoot Guidelines and Technical Standards System integration Technical management of the integration of automated systems in MES, WMS and site automation systems Review, maintenance and quality assurance of control and automation code Integration and error analysis of third-party equipment (e.g. pallet changer, forklift, special machines) Continuous Improvement & Knowledge Transfer Initiating and implementing continuous improvement measures Active Continuous Improvement & Knowledge Transfer Knowledge transfer within the team and across departments Support for training and development measures for Engineers Documentation & Stakeholder Management Maintenance of technical design and project documentation according to change management processes Ensuring regulatory and safety requirements Technical interface to project management, engineering, customers and suppliers

Core requirements: Complete studies in automation technology, electrical engineering or mechanical engineering 10+ years of experience in automation projects focusing on commissioning, commissioning and troubleshooting Detectional experience as lead engineer, technical manager or team leader Funded knowledge in: SRMs, Fördertechnik, AGVs, Maschinen- und Anlagenintegration as well as PLC systems and automation software Experience in error analysis of third-party equipment Strong Analytical Skills, Hands-on-Mentality and Ability to Professional Leadership Safe handling of documentation, change management, security and compliance requirements For our customers decisive experiences: Projects in pharmaceutical, logistics or highly automated production environments Knowledge of robotics, automated storage systems and advanced material handling Experience in system integration with MES/WMS or comparable platforms Cooperation with customer-driven projects, suppliers and external partners Project-related technical leadership on several trades Technical certifications in automation/control
