Heat and energy are our contribution to the quality of life – every day new. As BEW Berliner Energie und Wärme GmbH we supply our customers with electricity and heat. Our district heating network is the largest Western Europe with a length of more than 2,000 kilometres. We supply about one third of the Berlin apartments with district heating. With the know-how of our around 2,400 employees, we cover the entire value chain of district heating – from production to grid operation and expansion to distribution. In parallel, we work with high pressure at the coal exit until 2030 and on a climate-neutral* heat generation from 2045. To achieve this goal, we will gradually expand the share of renewable energies and unavoidable waste heat** in our district heating system. This expansion requires a fundamental transformation of many of our sites and plants. This dual study is conducted in cooperation with the University of Economics and Law in Berlin.

While the theoretical knowledge is imparted to you at the University of Economics and Law in Berlin, you obtain the practical knowledge in the fields of BEW Berliner Energie und Wärme GmbH. This allows you to connect the practical application in the workplace with a study. In the practical phase, the theoretical foundations are deepened in the areas of expertise at the BEW Berliner Energie und Wärme GmbH and the study focus is formed. In the sixth semester, the Bachelor's thesis is to be prepared in the company.
