As one of the largest municipal clinics in Germany, we as Klinikum Lippe secure the medical care for the population in the entire Lippe district as well as our children and youth psychiatry at the Bad Salzuflen site. As part of the University Hospital of Ostwestfalen-Lippe (OWL) of the University of Bielefeld, we provide 1,224 plan beds annually in about 30 clinics and competence centres. 100,000 outpatient and around 50,000 inpatient patients. The transformation of our clinic to a university provider gives rise to many possibilities and opportunities. In the winter semester 2021/22, the OWL Faculty of Medicine and Research was also included at the Campus Klinikum Lippe. Neonatology / Päd. Intensive medicine / Kinderkardiologie General paediatrics, diabetics with endocrinology Neuropaediatrics (EEG Laboratory) Psychosomatic The Department of Child Surgery is integrated into the Children's Hospital. In addition, the paediatric patients are supplied with trauma surgery, ENT, eye clinic, plastic surgery as well as oral and facial surgery. Together with the Clinic for Gynaecology and Obstetrics (approximately 2,000 births per year) we form a perinatal center (level 1 certified). The neonatology consists of 9 respiratory and 14 intermediate care places, the aftercare station is designed as a mother-child station. In addition, the clinic includes an interdisciplinary children's intensive care unit (4 ventilation places), an infant and toddler station, a school children's and adolescents station as well as a station for psychosomatic diseases. Every year approx. 3,200 patients inpatient care and 3,800 patients inpatient care. There is a close cooperation with the child and youth psychiatry and cardiology (certified as regional EMAH) of the house. A nursery school is attached. We also operate an interdisciplinary facility for outpatient care of children and adolescents with developmental disorders, imminent or manifest disabilities and chronic diseases with the Interdisciplinary Early Promotion Centre Lippe.
