Number: MER0003XD8 Design the digital factory of the future with us! About us: We are the IT team ‘Factory & Layout Planning’ and maintain the central FAPLIS factory planning and information system. This platform integrates diverse software solutions (CDE/CAD) for the planning, construction and management of our global production and office locations. With this we actively shape the Digital Factory and the Digital Twin of Mercedes-Benz. To keep FAPLIS up-to-date and continuously develop, we work closely with the specialist areas of production planning and our supplier network. Our daily business ranges from strategic concepts to the rollout of new software releases. We are constantly testing innovative solutions – from drone-based LiDAR scans to AI-based layout planning and visualization in the metaverse. We offer you: Responsive tasks from the start – you can take over your own subprojects and present results yourself Participation in a global IT system (FAPLIS) – deployed on five continents, in an international network of specialists Unique insights at the interface of factory planning and IT – experience how digitalization and production work together Direct cooperation in our decision-making processes – your ideas are heard and flow into real projects Intensive care and mentoring – our experts will help you with advice and action Flexible start time - we are looking for your study plan These challenges await you: You support our GenAI project “FAPLIS Virtual Assistant” by making user support more efficient and actively shaping the FAPLIS Knowledge Base You work in the “Base” product group – from the management system to the CAD basic software – and coordinate technical coordination and the organisation of meetings You are introducing yourself into special projects around the digital twin of production planning (e.g. the use of metaverse, AI-based layout planning) and driving innovations forward You analyze and develop our training and communication concept by introducing fresh ideas in the “Communication” product group In the transformation project “P2P – from Project to Product” you support our team in rethinking to product-based work ... and other exciting tasks depending on the project situation – here you can contribute with your strengths! The activity can start from March/April 2026.

Qualifications – this brings you: MINT degree course with IT content, for example (economic) computer science, mathematics, mechanical engineering, economic engineering or physics Above-average study achievements Willingness to work into complex technical processes and take responsibility Knowledge of agile working methods (Scrum, Kanban) – ideally with practical experience Experiences in the planning and implementation of projects at the university or private are advantageous Safe handling of MS Office Very good German knowledge of word and writing as well as good English knowledge This is what distinguishes you: You are characterized by a high self-motivation and the will to question the existence and advance improvements. You penetrate complex questions and are ready to try new ways of solving them.
