Surveyor / Geodesist for R&D (m/f/d)

Developing new geodetic measurement methods for PETRA IV, adapting existing methods and increasing their accuracy and efficiency Development, implementation and testing of high-precision measuring and adjustment systems for particle accelerators taking into account scientific findings Optimization of measurement methods for the economic and precise implementation of adjustments in future accelerator systems Application of high-precision measuring systems, in particular laser tracker and near-range photogrammetry Planning and evaluation of high-precision reference point systems as the basis for the adjustment of PETRA IV components Your work is flanked by structured incorporation, individual support and cooperation with experienced colleagues, so that you can successfully master the specific requirements of the PETRA IV jury

Completed technical higher education, field of geodesy or surveying technology or comparable discipline or equivalent skills and experience Very good knowledge and experience about precision instruments and measurement methods Ability to work safely and cooperatively in an international and interdisciplinary team Programming knowledge in at least one language (Python is preferred) to process measurement data and develop algorithms Good knowledge of English in word and writing for cooperation in global research contexts Readiness and motivation: We are particularly pleased with professional starters:inside with a scientific background, who are willing to work intensively into the specific requirements No previous knowledge of particle physics or large-scale research facilities are required – we offer you the appropriate incorporation
