The Max Planck Institute for Security and Privacy in Bochum (www.mpi-sp.org) is a research institute of the Max Planck Society for the Promotion of Sciences and Humanities, which interdisciplinaryly researches the diverse aspects of IT security and data protection. The newly established and expanding institute will comprise 18 research groups in the final version and approx. 200 employees. The Institute cooperates with the Faculty of Computer Science at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum (www.informatik.rub.de). Bochum is one of the world's leading research sites for cyber security and is home to the largest training facility in Europe in this field as well as a lively start-up scene. The MPI is currently housed in four buildings on the campus of the Ruhr-Universität Bochum, while the new institute is built in the innovation quarter Mark 51°7. The reference of the new building is planned for the end of 2027. For the building management of our institute, we are looking for Facility Management (d/w/m)

Construction and operation of the facility management in the new building, including accompaniment of initial operation and documentation, as well as perspective personnel responsibility for the FM team. Head of the technical plant in the new building: supervision, testing, maintenance and monitoring of the entire building technology to ensure a smooth operation, especially responsible for the entire building technology, including electrical, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration and elevator technology. Monitoring of maintenance and maintenance work: monitoring and coordination of the activities of foreign firms in order to ensure quality and efficiency, and the management of maintenance and testing contracts (e.g. DGUV V3). Error management and repairs: Fast detection of emergency measures in case of error messages and execution of necessary repairs to minimize downtime. Support and organisation of the transfer of the institution and the proper execution of existing leases Work protection and risk assessments: active cooperation in occupational safety measures, including road safety and implementation of plant-related hazard assessments.

You have a successfully completed electrotechnical training or a comparable qualification with training as a master or technician. You have several years of professional experience in positions with comparable responsibility, especially in the care of complex technical systems (such as control and control technology, GLT, RLT systems and refrigeration technology); Experience in the management of teams or the transfer of personnel responsibility is desirable. You work independently, structured and targeted. Your own initiative, flexibility and a high load capacity are your strengths. You are able to communicate competently and bindingly with all contact partners through your safe and friendly appearance, even difficult situations do not leave you alone. As an international research institute, we require very good knowledge of German and English in word and writing (min. B2-level). You are accustomed to collaborating in a variety of teams and contributing to the progress of the institute with common solutions. A high level of social competence and a strong organizational talent complete your profile. You are owned by a class B licence.
