Your role You bear the responsibility for the economic success of the entire sensor portfolio within the BU mCMM (Multisensoric Coordinate Measurement Machines) and consistently align all R&D activities with business impact, customer benefit and profitability. Sensor technology is the core of our technology and determines the precision, dynamics and performance of our coordinate measuring machines. Overall responsibility for the global R&D portfolio of sensor technology (optical/tactile sensors, sensor carriers, turntables) – from innovation to strategic announcement – with a clear focus on market, competition and profitability.

Control the R&D investment portfolio: Planning and control of the R&D budget, prioritization according to Business Impact and building a clear technology and product roadmap in close cooperation with operations, purchasing, logistics and suppliers.

You develop sensor platforms and technologies and transfer them into scalable, market-ready systems focusing on customer value, differentiation and technological excellence in close cooperation with system development, software and electronics.

You conduct three highly specialized teams in a disciplined manner and are responsible for the technical management of the global sensor technology R&D sector – including priority setting, resource-efficient control and competence building to strengthen performance and innovative power.

You ensure that development results are transferred to production and service in a robust and timely manner – including definition and optimization of the necessary processes – and thus make a measurable contribution to the quality, efficiency and outcome of the sensor technology business.

Successfully completed technical studies (e.g. physics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics) – ideally focusing on sensor technology, measuring technology or optics.

Experience in managing international, interdisciplinary teams in global matrix structures as well as strategic management of technology and product portfolios – including budget responsibility and roadmap development.

Entrepreneurship: You make investment decisions based on market, competition, business case and profitability and can translate technical complexity into clear business options.

Ability to combine innovation and speed of implementation: You establish lean processes, prioritize stringent and bring products to the market quickly and robustly.
