Supplier: Chair of Materials Applications in Mechanical Engineering In research, the IWM focuses on application-relevant questions of the material technology of metallic and ceramic materials and their material composites. The production of materials and components by modern powder-based processes is treated as well as the heat treatment of metallic materials and questions of material and component design with a view to complex mechanical and thermomechanical loads In order to support our team, we will now introduce a material tester/in or metallograph/in. Metallographic preparation of samples Evaluation and interpretation of microstructure and image analyses Documentation and technical interpretation of results Technical advice and support of academic staff and students Support and maintenance of existing preparation and analysis equipment Implementation of REM and EDX investigations, and application of FIB Conducting quasi-static and dynamic material testing Willingness to train material testers Creating offers

Successful completed vocational training for the material examiner, or a comparable qualification Knowledge of materialography, light and scanning electron microscopy, analysis and crystallography Experience in X-ray diffractometry (XRD) for analysis of crystal structures and phases Practical professional experience with various metallic and ceramic materials in the abovementioned fields of activity Safe handling of PC systems, office applications and image analysis software Good English knowledge of word and writing Embossed team skills, care and a structured way of working

The employment is in the employment relationship. The place shall be occupied at the next possible time and shall be terminated until 30.07.2030. Further employment is being pursued. The deadline is governed by § 14 para. 1 Part-time and temporary legislation (TzBfG). It is a full-time job. The grouping depends on the TV-L. The place is rated up to EG 7, depending on the personal condition. The job description is aimed at all sexes.
