Analysis of the interaction of wheel and rail in the context of the influences of contact geometry, chassis parameters, route parameters and operational specifications with methods of simulation and measurement technology Characterization of the influencing variables on wear and dimensional stability of the wheel-rail pairing You develop new approaches and review their statements in experiments You prepare the research results and present them in scientific publications You represent the methods and results at scientific conferences and transfer them to students in courses Selected courses continue to develop and work on exams and in the institute administration.You develop further relevant questions based on the findings and actively introduce them into funding applications. You have an excellent degree in mechanical engineering, vehicle engineering, material sciences or a comparable field of expertise. Furthermore, you have very good knowledge and experience in modelling, simulation and validation of technical systems with a focus on rail vehicles. In addition, knowledge and experience in the application of commercial software for finite element and multibody simulation are desirable. We require flowing German (min. C1) and English knowledge in word and writing. Personally, you are characterized by structured working, above-average diligence, creativity and will to succeed.
