Number: MER0003W2T The RD/EDS ''Drive Systems Software Integration & Control' is the 'home' of SW-BTVs (the software component controller) in the Mercedes-Benz drivetrain development. In the ''Software Projects AMG'' team, we coordinate, among other things, the development of V8 and V12 control unit software from the concept phase to start-up and roll-out, to serial and aftersales support for worldwide use in MBC, Maybach and AMG series. We are looking for you as a dedicated personality for an industrial promotion on over-the-air (OTA) updates from AMG, VAN and MBC vehicles across all c-drive drive variants. OTA updates are a key factor in keeping vehicles up-to-date, safe and functional throughout their life cycle. You will play a key role in shaping the future of software updates and developing innovative strategies for the entire product life cycle. Your tasks include: Analyze and develop strategies to ensure the software-down compatibility of internal combustion engine drive trains across the entire life cycle (development/production/aftersales), taking into account in particular compliance requirements and organizational requirements that are required for efficient implementation of software updates

Develop automated validation methods to ensure the conformity of OTA updates with the strict requirements of UNECE R156 (Software Update Management System - SUMS) regulations This includes safeguarding the integrity and traceability of software updates

Design and implement innovative, automated test strategies and tools to comprehensively review the quality and functionality of OTA updates for powertrain controllers This includes the development of test cases for different scenarios, including troubleshooting, functional extension and security updates

The activity can begin from March 2026. Adjustment requirement is the support of the doctoral project by a university lecturer. The selection of a corresponding person is the responsibility of the doctoral student.
