The field of contactless energy transmission for mobile applications is currently gaining massive importance in the context of electrification and autonomous driving. In this context and technologies of contactless energy transmission, a new location of the Fraunhofer IISB in Hallstadt near Bamberg is being built.

In order to strengthen our newly created team, we are now looking for an dedicatedn scientific staff*in for the development, optimization and testing of procedures for the roadside integration of these systems.

What you do with us

  • They develop and optimize processes for integration of contactless charging systems (coil systems, lines, management units) in road-side materials such as concrete and asphalt.
  • They develop innovative technologies to ensure the mechanical stability, thermal efficiency and electrical functionality of the integrated systems.
  • They investigate interactions between the charging systems and the surrounding infrastructure, in particular with regard to durability, weather resistance and road loadability.
  • They support the development of methods for the installation, repair and maintenance of charging systems on site.
  • They work on the industrialization of integration processes, including automation and scalability for use in road construction.
  • You document your results and present them in internal and external project circles. They work closely with interdisciplinary teams from science and industry and bring their expertise into cooperation.

What you bring

  • They have a completed academic degree in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, mechatronics, industrial engineering, electrical engineering or a comparable field of expertise.
  • Ideally, you have experience in road construction, infrastructure technologies or the integration of technologies in building structures.
  • You have knowledge in the material science of concrete, asphalt or other road construction materials as well as in process optimization.
  • They bring experience in the automation and scaling of manufacturing processes.
  • They are interested in new technologies and are motivated to engage in innovative topics.
  • A structured, independent and result-oriented way of working in the team will award you. They have very good knowledge of German and English in word and writing.
