Engineer or Scientist as Specialist in Occupational Disease Identification (m/w/d)

To strengthen our field of occupational diseases 2 within the West Prevention District, we are looking for you at the Dortmund location. About us The trade association Holz und Metall (BGHM) is one of the largest providers of statutory accident insurance in Germany. We take insurance cover for around 5 million insured persons in more than 250,000 companies in both industries. Our aim is to help people who are endangered by working conditions or affected by accidents or occupational diseases. Our prevention districts have the task of ensuring the prevention of occupational accidents, occupational diseases and occupational health hazards by means of all appropriate means in the member companies.

As an occupational disease investigator/in, you will in particular carry out job assessments (including exposure determination and assessment) at BK-Versichtsanzeigen and advise on appropriate risks and measures in the context of individual prevention. Their opinions on the employment relationships (work experience) have a high relevance for other jobs, including BK-sachbearbeitung, Gutachter/innen, state-owned industrial physicians/ doctors, jobseekers. In close cooperation with colleagues from the BK-Sachbearbeitung, you will advise and support each other in the investigation procedures. With the help of your pedagogical-didactic skill, you can change behaviour in insured persons and patients in the different areas of individual prevention (e.g. noise, skin, respiratory tract, muscle-skeletal diseases). You will also participate in information and training events as well as in the development of teaching and learning documents. The activity is preceded by an extensive internal training (duration: 9 months) in which you are accompanied individually.

Higher education (Bachelor, FH Diploma), preferably in the fields of natural or health sciences Current professional experience Good knowledge of technical operating conditions and of technical and occupational safety regulations readiness to frequent missions (car driving permit required) You are characterized by your structured and result-oriented work
