Through practical deployments, you will get to know the various areas with the most diverse areas of responsibility of the county administration and your future colleagues. For example, you will become a member of the Department I “Kreisentwicklung”, Department II “Sicherheit und Ordnung”, Department III “Jugend und Soziales” and the Department IV “Bau und Umwelt” or also in the Unit 1 “Kreistagsbüro und PRarbeit” and/or Unit 2 ‘Central Services and Finance’. There is a wide range of tasks at a high level of requirements. With your studies you gain a broad knowledge that makes you a true all-round talent. This is also shown in the later professional day. Many different tasks await you during your studies. As an official or official for revocation, you do demanding administrative work and solve complex legal issues in order to be prepared for future tasks of the senior management level. These could include, for example, the processing of contradictions, complaints or legal problems. Later it is also possible to follow leadership tasks such as the management of an organizational unit.

This content offers the study: The dual study is a combination of legal, social and economic sciences. It takes three years and comprises a total of nine trimesters, with theory and practice changing. Practical training takes place in the various organizational units of the district administration (about 4-6 weeks each). The theoretical training takes place at the municipal university for administration in Lower Saxony (HSVN) in Hannover. After basic studies, you define the focus of your studies – based on your personal and service interests. Here you can choose between the departments “Communal Administration” or “Management Business Administration”. In the course of the study “Communal Administration” there are mainly legal subjects, such as municipal law, general and special administrative law or private law. The degree programme “administrative business management” mainly conveys economics content, such as economics or cost and performance accounting.
