IT experts for digital situation products and data analysis (m/f/d)

The BBK is the head office of the Federal Government for National Crisis Management in Germany. We ensure the quality of crisis management in a central coordination role with federal, international and cross-sector partners. In view of this task, our interdisciplinary team is growing steadily. We are looking for dedicated professionals who want to make Germany more crisis-proof. We are looking for unlimited duration at the next time IT-Experts (m/w/d) for digital location products and data analysis Paying group 12 TVöD (Bund) in the Unit G.4 “Digitalization of Population Protection” at Bonn. G.4 analyzes data, creates interactive applications such as data crashboards, maps and visualization tools, and thus supports the work of the BBK. For this we also operate our own infrastructure and continuously develop it.

Digital Products – In close cooperation, you develop interactive maps, data dashboards and other applications. Data analysis and visualization – you develop various data sources, analyze data with and without spatial reference and prepare the results with addressable visualizations. Use methods from Data Science, Geoinformatics and AI. Programming and Automation – You develop scripts and data processing pipelines for maintaining our data base and administration of our infrastructure. Technical IT infrastructure – support the operation and further development of our IT infrastructure, for example by evaluating, testing and incorporating new components. Administrative cross-sectional tasks – you take over general administrative tasks, such as the initiation of procurement.

You have successfully completed a university degree (Bachelor/Diplom FH) with reference to data analysis, such as computer science, geoinformatics or a comparable degree course with a focus on information technology, or are close to its completion. You have already gained at least 3 years of relevant professional experience in the IT sector. An application is also possible if you do not have the required degree of study or have less professional experience, but the tasks mentioned could nevertheless be performed. Please note in this case the following notice*. You have profound knowledge of web technologies and in the (automated) development and processing of data. You have experience in designing and implementing data-driven, interactive applications. You are thrilled with data and digital solutions and are characterized by curiosity, service affinity and a high level of learning. In addition, you have knowledge in at least one of the following areas: programming with script languages/ alternatively statistics/ data analysis Methods of artificial intelligence, for example with reference to remote sensing or the use of LLM Frontend development with web technologies such as JavaScript or TypeScript.

You have team player qualities and work in agile teams is fun. A very good expressiveness in German and English (German C2/English B2 according to GER) completes your profile. Since our tasks are safety-relevant and event-oriented, we need your willingness to extend the safety review and to participate in the BBK crisis organisation. This may also include service at exceptional times.

Grouping by E 12 TVöD – We offer you an unlimited employment relationship according to E 12 TVöD. * For applicants without the required university degree or with less professional experience, the grouping – according to TVöD (Bund) – is usually lower.
