Approval of veterinary medicinal products We, the Paul-Ehrlich-Institut, are a scientific institution of the Federal Institute responsible for the testing and approval of vaccines and biomedical medicinal products and for research in the field of life sciences. Networking with national and international actors makes us a competent partner for the public, knowledge, medicine, politics and the economy.

You are responsible for the professional and disciplinary management of the VET 1 Department of Veterinary Medicine, which is responsible for immunological veterinary medicinal products and allergens as well as in the field of immunotherapy for monoclonal antibodies and veterinary medicinal products for novel therapies. The subject examines national and European applications for veterinary medicinal products and approves clinical trials. The area also supports the batch testing of immunological veterinary medicinal products. The field consists of a team of about 15 scientific staff. After thorough processing, control and coordinate the operational activities of the field and ensure their quality. These include, in particular, the overall responsibility and support for the timely and high-quality examination of applications for clinical testing and authorisation of veterinary medicinal products. You always have a look at the legal basis (including veterinary and animal health law, EU veterinary medicine regulation). You and your employees analyze and evaluate the data in terms of manufacturing, quality, safety and effectiveness. The cooperation in the creation and adaptation of national and international regulations is also one of your tasks. You support the department management conceptually for the further development of the department and the department and develop strategies for optimising the regulatory processes. You and your employees will present and discuss the findings of the field of knowledge-regulatory issues in company talks, specialist congresses and exchanges with other authorities. The Paul-Ehrlich-Institut is also represented in national and international bodies. In addition, you will support the management by creating reports on policy advice and responding to public requests.
