The Project Owner is the SMS group's point of contact, representative and responsible towards the Project Manager. He builds the steering interface and link between regional, line and project organizations and therefore, represents the company's interests in regards of the project. Acting as a “global entrepreneur”, the Project Owner has full profit and loss accountability and is therefore accountable for project delivery end-to-end (starting in the sales phase and ending with the project closure). The Project Owner is representative of the regional management in the related project during project execution and has the right to take final decisions on all subjects that affect the interests of the projects in his accountability. The Project Management Team, however, leads operational decisions. Project Owner is part of the internal organization project and reports to the regional management. Full profit and loss accountability (incl. project gross margin) for the full project scope delivery end-to-end from project start phase, project controlling project closing, noise of the involved stakeholders Non-delegable duty of supervision and monitoring of project HSE Point of contact in case of decisions required by the project team or whenever any issue to be escalated and require resolution not achievable on project team level Ensuring empowerment for the Project Manager and/or Contract Manager and protecting the project team from organizational interference(s) Authority for strategic project decisions touching SMS group's overall strategy and interest (e.g. claims vs new business opportunities) Establishing the framework conditions to enable attainment of the desired project success and guarantee a proper handover and project start-up and planning For assuring provision of adequate resources from the line organization and setting of organizational parameters incl. application of existing processes to ensure a uniform project quality Assist Project Governance in guarantee a global standard of project steering and controlling for the assigned project portfolio in his area of accountability Responsibility for conduction of a sustainable Lessons Learned process within the projects and ensure the transfer to and consideration within the line organization incl. highlighting of focus areas for improvement of the collaboration between project stakeholder (e.g. CoE, PGO, etc.)

Professional experience: Relevant educational background in engineering or business with strong technical background, or related field, coupled with approximately 10 to 15 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment Proven track record in project management and operations experience, ideally within the industrial or large-scale project business or plant construction High social competence and resilience, as well as a willingness to travel

Leadership and Strategic Decision-Making: Strong leadership skills compared with strategic mindset to represent the company's interests and guide the project team Proven ability to make strategic decisions that align with the company's goals and project priorities

Project Management Knowledge: Extensive experience in project management and a project-first mindset, including understanding project lifecycle, risk management, and quality assurance to ensure no gaps in scope, budget, or time during the sales and execution phases Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools

Communication and Conflict Resolution: Excellent communication skills to act as spokesperson and coordinate with various stakeholders including the internal committee steering and project manager as well as external stakeholders Skilled in negotiation and resolving escalations as the first level of contact for the project manager to articulate project goals and strategic factors effectively

Resource Management and Negotiation: Capability to allocate and manage resources efficiently in consultation with project and line managers Experience in budget management, including the release of provisional budgets and coordination claims strategy and risk mitigation

Industry Knowledge & Other Requirements: Deep understanding of the industry and specific project categories to protect and maintain corporate interests Uphold the highest standards of integrity and professionalism in all project interactions and decisions
