With my work in the field of system optimisation, I make a significant contribution to this by considering network planning in a holistic way, taking into account the interactions with the electricity market, flexibility options and sector coupling. Through the work in a five-year research project with close connection to BTU Cottbus, this site offers excellent conditions for a practical doctorate. At the same time, I have the opportunity to continuously expand and further develop my expertise in the field of energy system modeling in close cooperation with 50Hertz specialists. My tasks: further development of an innovative European energy system model together with the specialists of 50Hertz, extension of the model for cross-sector consideration of electricity and hydrogen infrastructure, development of new methods and approaches for accelerating the model, for example by more efficient formulations of load flow calculations or using GPU-based Solver, answering specific questions on future European network planning, representing 50Hertz as a specialist in energy system analysis and network planning in the research project, Presentation of research results at specialist conferences and in scientific networks.
